Anguillians travelling to Europe

Do I need a visa to travel to Europe?

Individuals with solely an Anguillan passport need a visa to travel within the EU. However, it is easier to apply for a British passport, which Anguillian nationals are entitled to. If you have a British passport you do not need a visa to travel within the EU.

Can I work in the UK with an Anguillian passport?

No, you will need to have a valid British passport.

No, you will need to have a valid British passport.

Am I entitled to a British Passport?

You are eligible for a British passport if you are a British citizen, a British Overseas Territories citizen, a British national (overseas), a British overseas citizen, a British subject or a British protected person.

Determining whether you are a British national and whether you qualify for British passport facilities is a complex process involving many factors. If you have never held a British passport and are not sure about your eligibility or need to find out more about British citizenship, please refer to the Home Office UK Border Agency (UKBA) website (http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/britishcitizenship/aboutcitizenship/) and the Directgov website (https://www.gov.uk/british-passport-eligibility). The Home Office are the lead government department for British nationality matters. Applicants must provide evidence of their entitlement to British Nationality if they are a first time applicant. The onus is on applicants to provide evidence to support their claim. If you submit a passport application and you are denied as you are not eligible the passport fee will not be refunded as the fee covers assessing your case and not only the passport document.

How can I acquire a British passport?

If you are renewing your passport, you should allow at least four weeks processing time from the date the fee is taken and the application contains all of the information we need. If it is a first time application, you should allow at least six weeks. You should not book travel until you have received your new passport.
